Emotional Freedom Technique

The Emotional Freedom Technique (also called “Tapping” or “EFT”) is an energy technique that can help you clear some of the emotional and energetic blocks that keep you stuck. We can be stuck in so many ways- we don’t do our self-care- we can’t keep a healthy routine of eating, sleeping and managing stress, we don’t get enough exercise… We self-sabotage and don’t even know why. At Bloom, we use EFT to clear some of those energy blocks that keep us from engaging in good self-care practices.

But what is EFT? Well, it involves a combination of tapping on acupuncture points (also called meridian endpoints) while verbally processing issues that are blocking energy in the body. There is actually quite a bit of research that backs this modality up- it’s even significantly helpful in treating PTSD in war veterans. One interesting aspect about EFT is that often, once you begin tapping and processing these energetic blocks, people often realize that events that have been keeping them feeling stuck can resolve so fast that they don’t remember feeling an energetic charge from those events at all.

Topics that can be addressed range from issues with cravings, lack of motivation, stress and even physical pain that doesn’t seem to be resolved with things like stretching or massage. There is always something deeper than the superficial issue, and those issues are calling us to dig a little deeper to unearth the root cause so we can get unstuck and move forward in life.
