CBD Skincare

This is a GREAT facial for skin that is sensitive, sensitized, dry or irritated.  I’ve had clients who love the CBD balm for minor skin irritations, dry patches and psoriasis.

One of the reasons I decided to investigate CBD is the fact that there are CBD receptors in the skin and throughout the body.  Since I believe there is a purpose for everything, I wondered why.  As it turns out, the body has a system that utilizes cannabinoids to create balance and promote healing.  It’s called the endocannabinoid system.  As a matter of fact, the body makes it’s own cannabinoids (endocannabinoids) to manage inflammation in the body.  Who knew?!

CBD is legally sourced from industrial Hemp.  It is extracted from the stalks and seeds of the plant and can be infused into products such as salves, lotion, and oils.  The product that Bloom is using an isolate (pure CBD) so it is strictly CBD with no other components (THC).  CBD has potential anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor properties and can also improve the health and appearance of the skin, hair, and nails when used topically.   There are other plants that contain CBD, such as Echinacea, Liverwort, Electric Daisy, Black Pepper, Helichrysum Umbraculigerum, Cacao  (from whence comes CHOCOLATE), and more- not to mention the fact that the human body also makes its own cannabinoids for anti-inflammatory and homeostatic (balancing) purposes.

CDB is a powerful anti-oxidant that protects the skin’s collagen and elastin which keeps the skin looking youthful.  It performs in a manner similar to the way vitamin E and C do by combating free radical damage, donating electrons to neutralize unstable particles.  CBD can also help regulate oil production (which is why it can be helpful for people who suffer from acne).  It contains other vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fatty acids that promote healthy skin.

Topical CBD products are applied directly to trouble areas.  With CBD topicals, the hemp-derived nutrients are quickly absorbed directly via the CBD receptors in the skin, which helps the topical products to work quickly and effectively.

We are currently using “Color Up Therapeutics” from a Denver based company.  They are licensed with CDPHE and are organic, cruelty-free, all natural, vegan, and gluten-free.
